Minecraft Your Library

Minecraft Your Library is an innovative, hands-on program where children and teens use Minecraft to design, build, and share their dream library. Participants will work individually or in teams to recreate their real library or invent a new one, incorporating favorite features, creative spaces, and imaginative details. This program blends digital creativity, collaboration, and real-world inspiration, allowing participants to express their ideas in a familiar and engaging virtual environment.

Learning Objectives

  • Digital Literacy & Creativity:
    Develop skills in digital design, spatial reasoning, and creative problem-solving while building in Minecraft.

  • Collaboration & Communication:
    Practice teamwork, sharing ideas, and giving feedback in a group-building environment.

  • Real-World Connections:
    Reflect on the purpose and features of libraries, translating real-world concepts into virtual designs.

  • Presentation Skills:
    Build confidence by giving virtual tours and explaining design choices to peers.

  • Project Planning:
    Strengthen planning and organizational skills by brainstorming, sketching, and executing a multi-step project.

Minecraft Your Library combines the power of imagination, technology, and community, allowing participants to reimagine what a library can be, both in the virtual world and beyond.
