The Thornton Public Library is seeking an engaged and enthusiastic resident to fill a current vacancy on the Library Board of Trustees. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of our library and the community it serves.
As a Library Trustee, you will work collaboratively with fellow board members and the Library Director to shape policies, guide library services, and advocate for the essential role that libraries play in education, inclusion, and community enrichment. Board members help ensure that the library remains a welcoming space where everyone can learn, connect, and grow.
What Trustees Do:
- Attend regular Library Board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making.
- Review library policies, budgets, and programs to support effective and inclusive service.
- Promote library initiatives and serve as an ambassador for the library within the community.
- Support long-term planning to strengthen the library’s resources and outreach.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be residents of the Village of Thornton and committed to fostering a strong, vibrant library system for all. No prior board experience is required, just a passion for libraries and community service!
