About the Book

When 60-year-old widow Vera Wong discovers a dead body in her nearly empty San Francisco Chinatown tea shop, she’s convinced it’s murder—even if the police aren’t. Drawing on her love of crime shows and her no-nonsense “Chinese mother” instincts, Vera sets out to solve the case herself, using food, nosiness, and plenty of unsolicited advice. Along the way, she gathers four young people connected to the deceased, turning suspects into an unlikely found family.
