Bring ancient art to life with a hands-on cave painting project. Children will work together on a large piece of brown bulletin board paper that’s crinkled to look like stone, then add colorful handprints and drawings inspired by cave art.
Staff will cover children’s hands in washable paint so they can stamp handprints across the paper, then invite them to use sidewalk chalk to draw animals, symbols, and other designs in and around the prints.
This is a messy, collaborative art experience that’s great for movement, creativity, and conversation about early human artwork and storytelling.
