This under-birded preserve has a 35-acre lake surrounded by woods with several species of oak trees and a long swath of prairie plants. We’ll check the lake for Great Egrets, Great Blue Herons, and waterfowl. Then we’ll walk the perimeter to look for sparrowsand warblers in the tall grasses & flowers and scour the treesfor four woodpecker species and more.
Meet near the far end of the parking lot.
There are accessible porta pottys.
The walk is on a mowed lawn path.
The bird walk is free and open to everyone.
